How is RX 550 GPU Doing These Days? RX 550 Benchmark 2020

RX 550 is one of the GPUs available at this moment which costs around $100 and it is a good GPU. By the price, you can understand that this GPU is not meant to run games on Ultra settings or so. It is a low end GPU, you can run most of the recent games in mid to low settings.  So lets see the performance of RX 550 here with the most popular battle royale games and also some multiplayer games that available in the market right now. 

1) Fortnite :- Fortnite new season dropped few weeks ago and its looking really good with all the Marvel Superheroes gathering around. Here is the game performance on RX 550 and Ryzen 5 1500x in 1080p all settings - 

2) Call of Duty Warzone  :- A 150 players battle royale game with insane graphics. It is definitely not a game for RX 550. RX 550 is not even in the minimum requirement list to play the game. But I ran it and here is the performance video -

3) Apex Legends :- After the Apex Legends new season update, I feel like game performance dropped a little. The game is not running smoothly like it used to before. Here is the recent video after Apex Legends Season 6 came out - 

4) Hyper Scape :-  A new battle royale game of UBISOFT, fast paced, like Apex Legends, but different and really challenging. Minimum requirement is - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2 GB), AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2 GB) or Intel HD 520. These are some old generation GPUs but really powerful ones. Price is much higher compared to RX 550. Here is the performance of the game on RX 550 - 

5) Spellbreak :- Spellbreak is a multiplayer action-spellcasting game. The game looks really cool. Minimum GPU requirement for this game is GTX 960 2gb. Here is the performance of the game in RX 550 - 

6) Fall Guys :- One of the most played games of 2020, Fall Guys, minimum requirement GPU to play this game is GTX 660. Well the GPU is little old but it is way to powerful than RX 550. Anyway, here is the performance of the game in RX 550 - 

7) Detroit Become Human :- An amazing award winning game with fantastic graphics. The minimum GPU requirement for this game is gtx 780 or HD 7950, and here is the performance of this game in RX 550 - 

Conclusion :- 

Game graphics are really cool these days. So yes you need a powerful GPU to get some decent performance and that is a common fact. But the GPUs this games mention as minimum requirements are way to costly and powerful. May be they do it because those GPU's are old. But I bet you can still play all the games mentioned above in 720p low settings with GPUs like GTX 660 or same which is much older than the one they mention. RX 550 is not that old yet, and it is a low end card. Most of the above games doesn't even mention it as it's minimum requirements. But I still can play most of those games pretty smoothly. So, before you buy, make sure you do a little research always if you are on a tight budget. And if you can afford the best, then you are in the wrong place.
