Resident Evil 4 Remake on RX 550 - Can You Run It?
The remake of the best Resident Evil game is here. Its already a month now the game is out and it's absolutely amazing. Though I must have to say the old is always gold but the new one looks very awesome. Now the real question is - if you have an RX 550, are you going to take the risk to buy resident evil 4 remake?
First of all, let's check the requirement of Resident Evil 4 remake -
Resident Evil 4 remake minimum system requirements
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 560 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 / Intel Core i5-7500
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
DirectX: DX12
Resident Evil 4 remake recommended system requirements
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / Intel Core i7 8700
RAM: 16GB
DirectX: DX12
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
As you can see above, its not asking much both in minimum and recommended. Thanks to the developers for that. Minimum requirement for the GPU is RX 560 and if you have a RX 550, well I guess the chances of running the game in minimum settings is quiet possible. But the only thing you need to support your RX 550 is a better processor, SSD and RAM. RX 550 alone can not handle such games, it needs some support. As for me, I have Ryzen 5 5600x, previously I got 1500x but upgraded to the 5600x now, which is as powerful as Ryzen 5 3600, also 16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM. I ran the demo version of the game and here is the result -
The game is running above 30 FPS in low settings. Also tried the different resolutions and at 720p the game is averaging 50 FPS. Guess if you are desperate to try the game, you can give it a shot with your RX 550. But also remember, if you don't have better supporting CPU and enough RAM, then the game may struggle.
If you are not sure whether your PC can run the game or not, you can comment your specs and I can certainly give you an idea how your PC going to perform the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
